Hosting and server logs
This is a static website running on a server I operate at Contabo GmbH in Munich, Germany. On every request the web server logs technically necessary data: IP address, timestamp, requested address, status code, amount of data transferred, referrer and browser identifier. These logs serve secure operation and troubleshooting; the legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a working service). They are deleted automatically after a short period and are not combined with other data.
No cookies, no tracking
No cookies are set and no analytics or tracking tools are used. Fonts, scripts and images are served from the same server; there is no content delivery network, ad network or social network embedded. Visiting the site therefore creates no connection to third parties.
Waitlist form
If you get in touch through the "Early access" form, the details you enter are transmitted: name, contact detail, optionally your role and a description of your project, plus the language of the page. The data goes to my own RustyCMS instance on the same server and is stored there until your request is settled or you object to storage. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (steps taken at your request) or Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The data is not passed on to third parties.
To fend off spam, the application checks a field invisible to you and limits the number of submissions per sender. For that, the IP address is processed only as a hash value and is not stored alongside your request.
Your rights
You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR), as well as the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). An informal message to the address above is enough.
You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; the competent one here is the Thüringer Landesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit, Häßlerstraße 8, 99096 Erfurt, Germany.
Changes
If the website changes technically, this policy is updated. The version published here is the one that applies.
